Can I change my remote or keypad code?
You can usually change the access code your garage door keypad or remote use without too much trouble. It's just a matter of following the instructions in your owner's manual. If you're interested in upgrading to a new control panel or remote, then give our experts a call.
What's the difference between torsion and extension springs?
Although both of these springs have a similar role, they work very differently. Extension springs are installed in pairs, one on each side of the door. They stretch while the door closes and then use the stored tension to help it rise back up when you open it. Torsion springs twist and unwind, effectively using torque in order to do the same. Usually only one of them is required, and it is installed across a steel shaft right above the door.
How can I tell if my spring is broken?
One of the most obvious and frightening signs of broken springs is your garage door slamming down loudly. Even more noticeable would be the startling BANG that results from the spring tension being suddenly released. It's quite hard to miss. Of course, if you were away while it happened, you'll find that your door is inoperable when you return to your home. Contact our experts to get this component safely replaced.
